about

December 2012 sees the release on 208 Records of “The Saturday Girl”, a track from Simon Wells’ critically acclaimed album, “Sometimes In The Morning”. The song’s charming theme is effortlessly pastoral, melodic and reflective of the English countryside where it was written & recorded. Engendering a feel that lies somewhere between Tim Hardin, Nick Drake and Paul Weller circa “Wildwood” era, the song has delighted audiences across the country, and its release on a single is destined to become a much-sought after item.

Backed with the release are two tracks recorded at London’s legendary Troubadour club, and a track called “Please Be Kind”, homage to Wells’ Nick Drake inspirations. Wells’ captivating audiences across London and the south-east, the release is destined to become a landmark in the largely undefined genre of English pastoral folk.
